MySQL Restore - moving your Joomla site |
| I had the opportunity to work with the MySQL Administrator GUI the other day. I rather enjoyed it and learned to restore a database to a Joomla site on another server than it was created on. Funny thing was, when I searched online to figure out how to do this I did find some information, but it was incomplete in some way or just didn't work. So I figured it out for myself, however disappointed I was that the web let me down. |

| I never know what I'm headed for when I recieve contact from a client. Most times it's just about something simple that they forgot how to do, but other times, I am truly amazed by the predicament that they have created. |

Put Jaiku (embedded code) on your Joomla site |
| I have been asked several times how to put badges, profile buttons, and other code from social media sites on to a Joomla site. It is surprisingly simple, and will also give you other ideas as to how you can add custom content. I'll use Jaiku for an example, just because I like it. |

Vemod is Installed; Now what? |
| This is for Joomla! 1.5.x and Vemod After you have successfully installed Vemod, you should run this quick test. It involves some back end configuration and some front end work, but overall it's very easy. Quick fact - the text in the newsletter comes from content items (articles). Depending on your situation, you may want to have a Section or Category dedicated to newsletter items, or you can make several Sections/Categories of the normal content available to be mailed. There is also a way to add modules to the letter, and we'll do that, too. I am assuming you have a 'Submit Article' Link in your menu already and that you know the basics of Joomla! |
